#114: Rabbit Hutches, Laos:

Rabbit Hutches
rural Laos.  The children at the orphanage raise their own vegetables but they are protein deficient.  The older girls  keep the hutches clean and feed the rabbits.  There are a total of 391 children at the orphanage.

#115: Legal Training Supplies, Kenya:Training supplies such as pens ($.19), legal pads ($.62), paper ($5.30) and flip charts ($30.00) are needed for a pro bono trial advocacy program provided by US attorneys specifically focusing on violence against women and children.  A camcorder ($110.00) also is needed for videotaping mock trials and providing feedback.  Associated organization:  Lawyers Without Borders, www.lwob.org.

outbreak of malaria.  The community will provide the manpower for the construction work.  Total cost for the well is $5,927. There are matching funds for this project so that every contribution is trebled.  Associated organizations: Anti Malaria Association, Ethiopia and Rotary.

Traditional weaving skills for girls

Lantern Projects is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 2003 to raise funds for small projects around the world. The projects request small amounts of funding for specific items. This enables adults and children an opportunity to contribute a small amount of funds and see that their funds really make a difference in someone's life.

Donations are tax deductible and 100% of the donations go to the projects. Projects are found through the international schools, service organizations, such as Rotary and personal contacts. There is a personal known contact for each project. Recipients agree that 100% of the funds they receive will be used for the intended project. If applicable, associated organizations are listed in the description so that donors can obtain additional information. The project items are purchased in the locale. This assists the local economy and it avoids shipping costs and problems.
